Full job description

Motor Vehicle Technician

J&J Motors Nissan is looking for a skilled and motivated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our highly successful aftersales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles
Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, brake service, fluid checks, etc.)
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues accurately
Repair or replace worn or defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Communicate clearly with service advisors or customers regarding vehicle conditions and repair recommendations
Stay up to date with industry standards, tools, and repair techniques

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or technician
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, electrical, braking, suspension, HVAC, etc.)
Ability to use diagnostic software and hand/power tools
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver’s license

Required Qualifications:

IMI level 3 or equivalent
Experience with multiple vehicle makes and models
Familiarity with shop management or diagnostic software
Valid MOT testers licence (preferred but not essential)

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00

Physical & Work Requirements:

Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in various positions for extended periods
Capability to lift and handle vehicle components
Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
