Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of parts within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in category management, process optimisation, and supply chain logistics. This role involves managing warehouse operations, coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL), and ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes. The Parts Manager will play a vital role in maintaining seamless materials handling and supporting overall operational effectiveness through data analysis and system management.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimise the parts inventory through effective category management and process improvement strategies.
Oversee shipping & receiving operations to ensure timely delivery and dispatch of parts.
Utilise transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 to monitor stock levels, order processing, and inventory accuracy.
Coordinate with 3PL providers to streamline logistics operations and improve supply chain efficiency.
Supervise materials handling activities, including picking & packing, forklift operations, and stock replenishment.
Analyse data to identify trends, forecast demand, and implement improvements in warehouse processes.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all warehouse activities.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise warehouse workflows and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and receipts using relevant systems.

Skills

Proven experience in category management, process optimisation, and logistics coordination.
Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, including AS400.
Familiarity with 3PL providers, shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment such as forklifts, and picking & packing operations.
Excellent data analysis skills to interpret operational metrics and drive improvements.
Extensive warehouse experience with a focus on supply chain management and logistics coordination.
Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory control and order processing.
Ability to lead process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment.
