Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and personable barber to join our team. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service within a professional environment, with opportunities to develop specialised skills in hair styling and barbering. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, providing expert hair care services, and maintaining effective communication with clients. This position offers a dynamic work environment where organisational skills and a passion for hairstyling are highly valued.

This role supports a charitable organisation by helping deliver a youth mentorship programme. The programme is designed to guide and develop young people while creating a sustainable pipeline of future talent and ensuring long-term succession within the organisation.

Duties

Greet clients warmly and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit
Provide professional hair styling and barbering services tailored to individual client preferences
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the work area and tools
Consult with clients to understand their needs and offer suitable haircare advice
Manage appointment schedules efficiently, ensuring timely service delivery
Communicate clearly with clients about service options, aftercare, and product recommendations
Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in hair styling and barbering techniques
Assist in maintaining stock levels of products and tools required for daily operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in customer service within a salon or barbering environment is desirable
Formal training or certification in hair styling or barbering is preferred
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clients
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism and friendliness at all times
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Organised with good time management skills to handle appointments efficiently
A passion for hairstyling and grooming, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics

Pay: £15.00 per hour
