Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Supervisor/Manager to lead our bar team and ensure exceptional service standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily bar activities, manage staff, and deliver memorable experiences to our guests. Previous restaurant, hotel, or barista experience is highly desirable, alongside supervisory expertise in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, supervising food preparation and production, and ensuring the smooth running of all bar functions.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the bar, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction
Supervise and motivate team members, including training new staff and managing schedules
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the bar
Coordinate food preparation and food production activities, ensuring quality control
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste
Assist with cooking and food presentation when necessary to support the team during busy periods
Serve drinks efficiently while providing excellent customer service
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with health & safety guidelines
Lead by example in hospitality excellence, fostering a positive working environment

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel or hospitality setting
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Experience in food production, kitchen operations or culinary roles is advantageous
Familiarity with serving beverages in a high-volume environment such as bars or restaurants
Background in hospitality management or leadership roles within similar establishments is preferred
Additional skills such as barista experience or hotel experience are considered beneficial
