About The Organisation

NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

To provide a comprehensive administrative service within the department to Orthotists, Consultants, Associate Specialists, Registrars, Junior Doctors, Nurse Specialists and Physiotherapists.

In this key role, you will:

Provide a high quality administrative service to the Head of Profession for Orthotics and his team, Nurse Specialist teams, Physiotherapists and Orthotics Contractors. To ensure efficiency in patient care.
Respond to telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
Responsible for managing out-patient waiting lists, ensuring that the patient management system information is accurate and up to date to ensure waiting time targets are achieved.
Arranging appointments for the appropriate Orthotic clinic and arranging transport to facilitate the patient journey.

What You'll Bring:

Understanding of a range of work procedures, all of which are non-routine, requiring an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge
Expertise knowledge gained through experience of Government Prescription Charges and Exemption Categories.
Expertise knowledge gained through experience of the range of adminstration procedures.
Knowledge of software programmes
