Part-Time Barista

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and friendly Part-Time Barista to join our team as we launch our new café venture. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and a positive attitude. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and helping create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing independent café from the beginning and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and speciality beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Assist with food preparation and serving, ensuring all items are presented attractively.
Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout each shift.
Help create a welcoming and positive environment for customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is preferred for one position; full training will be provided for a second candidate, so experience is not essential for all applicants.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is desirable.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive customer experiences.
Excellent time management abilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work as part of a team.
A confident and friendly personality with the ability to build relationships within the local community.

Desirable but Not Essential

Sales experience.
Social media content creation or management experience.
An interest in coffee, tea, and speciality beverages.
