Overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Apprentice Dental Nurse to join our friendly dental practice. This paid apprenticeship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in dental nursing while working alongside experienced professionals. The role is ideal for individuals interested in developing a career in healthcare, particularly within dental care, and who possess excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the smooth operation of the practice.

Responsibilities

Assisting the dental team during patient appointments, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
Providing support with administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records and scheduling appointments
Supporting patients through effective communication, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns
Learning and adhering to infection control procedures and health & safety regulations
Assisting with patient care under supervision, including post-treatment advice and aftercare instructions
Developing knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials through training and on-the-job experience

Qualifications

Basic understanding of patient care principles and a caring attitude towards patients
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with patients and team members
Interest or background in nursing or healthcare is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial
Good IT skills for managing digital records and administrative tasks
Strong communication skills to interact confidently with patients and colleagues
Organised with excellent time management abilities to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
