Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to support the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, management, and working with children to develop their skills within a supportive team. The role involves assisting with children's activities, ensuring their wellbeing, and supporting the overall organisation of nursery routines.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
Assist in supervising children during playtime, meals, nap times, and organised activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, including sanitising toys and equipment regularly.
Support management in implementing nursery policies and procedures effectively.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive atmosphere.
Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children's progress reports.
Assist in managing behavioural issues with patience and professionalism, promoting positive behaviour strategies.
Contribute to team meetings and training sessions to enhance childcare practices.
Support the organisation of outings or trips when required, including driving responsibilities if qualified.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is advantageous.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and understand their individual needs.
Management or leadership experience is advantageous for supporting team coordination.
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary.
A caring attitude, patience, organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential qualities for this role. This position offers an enriching environment for those committed to nurturing young minds while developing their professional skills within early childhood education.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
