Full job description

At Mettricks, we're passionate about serving fresh, high-quality food and exceptional coffee across our sites. We're looking for a reliable and organised Prep Chef to join our central kitchen team and play a key role in preparing and delivering the food our customers love.

About the Role

As a Prep Chef, you'll be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh food products including sandwiches, toasties, salads, and other grab-and-go items. You'll help ensure our cafés are fully stocked by preparing, packing, and dispatching food orders to our different locations.

This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone who enjoys working efficiently, takes pride in consistency and quality, and thrives as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing sandwiches, toasties, salads, and other fresh food items to Mettricks standards
Carrying out daily food preparation and ingredient prep
Packing completed products ready for delivery to our café sites
Organising and dispatching orders accurately and on time
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Assisting with kitchen cleaning and general kitchen duties
Following recipes, specifications, and portion controls to ensure consistency

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a kitchen, food preparation, catering, or similar role is preferred
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and punctuality are essential
