Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced culinary setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and build on previous kitchen experience. Whilst initially a fixed term contract, for the right candidate could lead to a permanent role.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain smooth kitchen operations
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to promote a safe working environment

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is essential
At least basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
Experience in meal preparation and serving within a busy setting will be highly regarded
A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is essential

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service in a fast paced but fun setting. This role has flexibility in the hours and we are very open to flexibility in hours / days for the right candidate. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Pay: £13.45-£17.00 per hour
