About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in shaping and advancing the EDI agenda within a complex, ambitious and globally recognised institution, helping to drive meaningful and lasting change across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of EDI (Behaviour and Culture Change), you will provide strategic management and expert advice on EDI across UCL. Working in partnership with senior leaders, HR colleagues, staff networks and operational teams, you will develop and deliver initiatives that remove barriers, improve workplace experiences and embed inclusive practice. You will manage complex projects and institutional programmes, develop policies and guidance, analyse data and evidence, deliver training to a range of audiences and influence decision-making at senior levels. You will also line manage our Staff Reasonable Adjustments Advisor overseeing our reasonable adjustments advice service, and ensuring disability inclusion remains a visible and integral part of UCL's EDI strategy. This role offers a unique opportunity to create meaningful impact across a large and diverse organisation, helping to shape the culture, systems and practices that support our large and diverse community.

This is a full-time Fixed-Term Contract (open for secondment) role avialable until early July 2028, offered on a hybird working basis with currently a minimum of 1-2 days per week onsite at our London Kings Cross office (subject to change). You will be required to be onsite as and when needed as part of the role. Please note, all applications will be anonymised via our ATS system. About you

You are an experienced EDI professional with a strong understanding of the Equality Act 2010, including in relation to disability and reasonable adjustments.

You will bring experience of leading or advising on inclusion initiatives within a large, complex organisation and be confident working with senior stakeholders on sensitive and sometimes challenging issues. You understand how to balance legal requirements with practical solutions, while maintaining a strong focus on positive colleague experiences.

You are an effective relationship builder, communicator and influencer who can translate complex legislation, policy and data into practical action. You are equally comfortable developing strategic recommendations, delivering engaging training or managing projects.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about creating accessible and inclusive environments where diverse colleagues can succeed. You will share UCL's commitment to EDI and be motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful change across one of the world's leading universities.
