Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, patient records, and administrative tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a welcoming environment where organisational skills and excellent communication are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior dental reception experience.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Handle incoming calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Process payments accurately and efficiently
Assist with administrative duties such as filing, correspondence, and updating patient information
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-organised
Support the dental team with various clerical tasks to ensure smooth daily operations

Skills

Proven office or administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare setting
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff
Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent programmes
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information discreetly
Friendly demeanour with a customer-focused approach to patient care
