Full job description

JC Hotels are recruiting for a passionate Head Chef. The right candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen in order to deliver a great customer experience as well as continuously training staff, controlling costs and all other kitchen needs.

This is a full time position, including weekends and evenings

Excellent salary to be discussed on interview. This is dependent on experience, ability and hours

There is accommodation on site if required - this can be discussed on interest show

Job location: The Boars Head Hotel, DE6 5GX

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

· Manage all aspects of the kitchen including operational, quality and administrative functions

· Ensuring adequate resources are available for the current and predicted needs of the kitchen

· Keep all working areas clean and tidy, ensuring no cross contamination

· Complying with all current legislation with regards to health and safety, fire and food safety

· Controlling costs yet ensuring that standards are not compromised

· Improving the gross profit margins and other reaching other targets set by management

· Ensuring that all other team members have an up-to-date knowledge of current & future menus, special promotions and any forthcoming events

· Ensure that staffing levels are maintained in order to meet the current & future business demands

· Manage any staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures

· Recruit, train and develop the kitchen team

· Ensure that all maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues are dealt with in an appropriate time frame

· Regularly review menus to ensure that dishes are in line with market trends and demands

· Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas

WHAT ARE JC HOTELS LOOKING FOR IN ME?

· Catering experience in managerial capacity

· Experience managing a kitchen and developing staff

· Experience managing food costs

· Excellent leadership and communication skills

· Excellent planning and organizing skills

· Commitment to deliver a high level of customer service

· Ability to work under pressure

· Ability to work on own or in teams

· Intermediate food hygiene qualification

· Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations

· A passion for food

· Some knowledge of current market trends and demands
