Job Overview

Join our holiday cottage team as a Garden Maintenance Specialist, where your passion for gardening and horticulture will help transform outdoor spaces into vibrant, healthy environments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, applying your growing experience and technical skills to maintain beautiful landscapes. You will be responsible for executing routine garden care, implementing landscape maintenance tasks, and ensuring the health and aesthetics of various garden areas. If you thrive in active outdoor settings and enjoy bringing gardens to life, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

Use hand tools and power tools to prune, trim, mow, and edge lawns and garden beds effectively
Apply horticultural practices to promote plant health, including fertilizing and pest control
Assist with planting new greenery, shrubs, flowers, and trees according to landscape plans
Conduct regular inspections of garden areas to identify issues such as disease or damage
Maintain cleanliness of work sites by removing debris and ensuring tools are properly stored

Skills

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation equipment used in gardening and landscape maintenance
Growing experience with plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, and other garden elements
Strong knowledge of horticulture principles and best practices for healthy plant growth
Ability to operate gardening machinery safely and efficiently
Passion for gardening and landscaping with a keen eye for detail
Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors
