Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Spray Painter to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicles, ensuring a flawless and durable result. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment. Candidates with mechanical knowledge and experience using hand and power tools will be highly valued. The position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about automotive refinishing and dedicated to maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
Mix paints and primers accurately according to colour specifications and technical data sheets.
Operate spray guns and other painting equipment safely and effectively to apply coats evenly across vehicle surfaces.
Perform touch-ups and corrective work as needed to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Assist with the assembly or disassembly of vehicle parts as required during the painting process.
Conduct quality checks on finished work, ensuring colour match and surface finish meet company standards.
Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques safely during preparation and finishing processes.

Experience

Previous experience in automotive painting or refinishing is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding vehicle structures and repair processes.
Familiarity with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, or brushes is desirable.
Experience operating power tools related to painting or surface preparation is beneficial.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or materials is required.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes are essential for success in this role.
Panel beating experience required
