Full job description

Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Location: Birmingham – Office Based
Hours: 16–20 hours per week
Salary: £14.00 per hour

Sheldon Inns Ltd is looking for an organised and accurate Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our busy Head Office finance team.

We operate a number of pubs across the Midlands, and the role will primarily involve processing and checking the weekly financial information received from each of our sites.

This position would suit someone with previous accounts or finance administration experience who is confident working with figures, Excel and accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and checking weekly cash sheets submitted by our pubs
Checking figures for accuracy and identifying any discrepancies
Liaising with pub managers where information is missing or requires clarification
Entering weekly financial information accurately onto Excel spreadsheets
Inputting financial data into Sage
Producing self-billing invoices for pub managers' management fees
Posting self-billing invoices accurately onto Sage
Checking that supporting paperwork and figures correspond with the information submitted
Maintaining accurate and organised financial records
Assisting the finance team with other accounts and administrative duties when required

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience in an accounts, finance or bookkeeping environment
Experience using Sage or similar accounting software
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Confidence working with numbers and identifying discrepancies
Good organisational and time-management skills
The ability to work independently and manage a regular weekly workload
Good communication skills when dealing with managers and colleagues

Experience within the pub, hospitality or multi-site sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
