Job Summary
We're a luxury outdoor living business based in Essex. We design, supply and install premium pergolas, outdoor kitchens, garden furniture and accessories, helping people get out of their homes more by making their outdoor spaces genuinely usable, all year round.
We were founded in 2019 and have grown into a team of 22, with a destination showroom at The Heron Country Club in Brentwood. We're moving from a founder-led startup into a more structured business, and we're investing deliberately in a lean team with the right tools to grow efficiently.
Our mission is to create all-weather outdoor spaces that help people live happier, healthier lives and to shift the way the UK thinks about outdoor living from nice-to-have to essential.
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Content Marketing Manager to lead our content strategy and execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engaging content across multiple platforms, enhancing brand visibility, and driving audience engagement. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise a broad skill set including, social media marketing, content management, and graphic design to support organisational growth. The ideal applicant will possess strong copywriting abilities, technical proficiency with various content management systems, and a keen eye for visual storytelling through photography and video editing. This is a paid position suitable for experienced professionals or aspiring marketers eager to make a significant impact within our organisation.
This is an exciting, hands-on content marketing role for someone who loves creating. You'll be responsible for bringing the Suns Lifestyle brand to life across social media, content and email - turning customer installations, showroom moments, seasonal trends and the joys of outdoor living into engaging content that builds awareness and drives demand.
Working closely with our Creative Director and Fractional Marketing Director, you'll help shape how Suns shows up in the world. One day you might be filming a newly completed outdoor kitchen installation, the next editing content from a customer testimonial, planning the month's social calendar or supporting a campaign launch. You'll have plenty of autonomy, real ownership, and the opportunity to help define what great content looks like for a fast-growing lifestyle brand.
A typical week might look like
Monday On-site at a customer installation. Capture install timelapses, interview the homeowner, get footage of the finished pergola, photograph the space at golden hour and gather content that can be repurposed across social, email and future campaigns.
Tuesday Review content and campaign performance with the wider team. Identify what's working, what's not, and lock in priorities for the coming weeks. Finalise the content calendar and liaise with the ops team to plan upcoming shoots, installs and showroom content opportunities.
Wednesday Edit Monday’s footage into reels, stills and content assets. Use AI tools where they genuinely improve efficiency or quality. Create multiple versions for different channels, organic and paid, and schedule content for the week ahead.
Thursday Showroom day. Film the sales team on a Q&A piece. Capture product imagery and customer stories. Check in with the Creative Director on any creative sign-off needed.
Friday Build next week's email newsletter, repurposing the strongest content and customer stories from the week. Review upcoming installs, launches and seasonal moments to identify content opportunities and make sure the marketing calendar is set up for success.
Some weeks will be heavier on production. Some weeks will be heavier on planning, strategy and coordination. The mix changes, but the ownership doesn't.

- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform content development and optimise marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels and support sales initiatives through targeted content creation.

Content production

- Film, edit and produce photography and video content across platforms
- Be on-site at customer installations capturing real spaces and customer stories
- Create showroom content including team-led pieces, product features and customer stories
Work confidently with on-camera talent (sales team, founders and wider team) and be comfortable appearing on camera yourself when needed.
Email marketing support
- Repurpose content, customer stories and campaign assets into engaging email content
- Build and schedule regular email newsletters in Klaviyo
- Draft copy, test subject lines and support reporting
What we're looking for
Experience
- 4-7 years in social media and content roles, ideally in-house at a small or mid-sized consumer brand.
- Strong portfolio of content you've personally produced - not curated, briefed or overseen.
- You've run social calendars yourself, posted yourself, and dealt with the operational reality of doing it consistently
- Comfortable shooting on a phone, DSLR or mirrorless camera. Confident in CapCut, Premiere or similar editing software
- Experience working with premium consumer, lifestyle, interiors, home or hospitality brands is highly desirable.
Comfort with AI
- You already use AI tools in your own work - Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Descript, Runway, Captions or equivalent
- You can talk us through specific examples of how AI has helped you produce more or better work
- You're curious about new tools and adopt them quickly rather than waiting to be told
- You see AI as leverage, not a shortcut - the quality bar doesn't drop just because the speed goes up
Mindset
- Hands-on by nature — energised by doing the work, not delegating it
- Comfortable working in a lean team where there's no one underneath to pick things up
- Organised and self-directed — you can run a calendar without being chased
- Take ownership genuinely. The role works when you treat the output as yours
- Resilient. Not every install will go to plan. Not every shoot will deliver what you hoped. You roll with it
- Collaborative — comfortable working alongside a senior creative leader who owns brand direction
The intangibles
- Genuine interest in the lifestyle space — outdoor living, design, hospitality, premium homes
- A point of view on what good content looks like. Not just executing — contributing
- Comfortable being on camera occasionally, or directing others to be
- Live within a sensible commute of Brentwood — this is an in-person role most of the week
What you won't find here
- A team of juniors to delegate to
- A heavily corporate environment with multiple layers of approval
- A purely strategic role where you brief others to do the work
- A team that's set in its ways or closed to new tools and approaches
- A nine-to-five — peak season can be intense, but we balance it through the rest of the year
What you'll get
- £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Equipment budget for camera, editing kit and software
- Access to the tools you need to do the role properly — including AI tools and software subscriptions
- Pension via auto-enrolment
- Genuine ownership of brand and content for a growing business
- Direct access to both founders and the leadership team
- A role that grows with the business — as we scale, this position scales with you
How to apply
Send us your CV alongside:
1. Three pieces of content you've personally produced that you’re proud of and a short explanation of why they worked - the platform and original brief don't matter, what matters is that the work is yours
2. One example of how AI has changed the way you work — could be a workflow you've built, a tool you've adopted, a piece of content you've produced faster or better with AI help, or simply how you think about it[CS1]
Tell us briefly why this role is interesting to you.
We're not looking for perfect cover letters. We're looking for the right person.
