Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Mentor to inspire and empower young individuals through positive guidance, mentorship, and support. In this role, you will serve as a role model, fostering a safe and nurturing environment where youth can develop essential life skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create meaningful connections that motivate youth to pursue their goals and overcome challenges. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our community.

Duties

Provide one-on-one mentorship to youth, offering guidance, encouragement, and support tailored to their individual needs
Develop and implement engaging activities that promote personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills
Collaborate with educators, parents, and community organisations to support youth development programs
Assist in creating safe spaces where young people feel valued, respected, and heard
Monitor progress and provide feedback to help youth set and achieve achievable goals
Facilitate workshops or group sessions focused on life skills, education planning, or social-emotional learning
Maintain accurate records of interactions, activities, and progress reports for program evaluation

Skills

Strong background in teaching or mentoring with a genuine passion for youth development
Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or community settings
Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with diverse youth populations
Ability to motivate, inspire, and build trusting relationships with young people
Knowledge of special education needs or youth work best practices is a plus
Patience, empathy, and active listening skills to understand individual challenges and strengths
Ability to organize engaging activities that foster growth and confidence
