Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Legal Secretary/Receptionist to join our professional team. This vital role combines front-desk responsibilities with comprehensive legal administrative support, ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy legal environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for clients and visitors while efficiently managing legal documentation and administrative tasks.

Duties

Greet clients, visitors, and callers with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing exceptional customer service.
Manage incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and handle message taking with clarity and efficiency.
Perform audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports accurately and swiftly.
Prepare, format, and edit legal documents using Microsoft Word, ensuring consistency and adherence to formatting standards.
Organise and maintain legal files, case records, and correspondence in an orderly manner for easy retrieval.
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates while coordinating with relevant parties.
Assist with general administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and data-entry.
Support the legal team with IT-related tasks when necessary to ensure seamless workflow.

Requirements

Experience as a Legal Secretary or Administrative Assistant within a legal setting is preferred but not essential.
Audio typing skills with accuracy and speed is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other IT tools relevant to office administration.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines consistently without compromising quality.
Previous experience in handling legal documentation or court procedures is a plus but not essential.

Start Date: mid- late September 2026

Pay: From £23,500.00 per year
