Parallel Partnerships is a fast-growing outsourced B2B sales and appointment-setting company based in Leeds.
We help B2B companies generate qualified sales meetings through high-quality outbound calling, prospecting and sales development.
Our clients are typically B2B companies looking to increase pipeline, book more meetings with their target market, and improve outbound sales performance.
We are now looking for a strong new business appointment setter to generate qualified meetings for the founder.
This is not a generic telesales role. It is a high-level outbound role speaking with founders, managing directors, sales directors, marketing directors and other senior commercial decision-makers.
The role
Your main job will be to book qualified new business meetings for the founder of Parallel Partnerships.
You will be calling relevant B2B companies, opening conversations with senior commercial decision-makers, identifying whether there is a genuine need, qualifying the opportunity properly and booking meetings with the founder.
Initially, this role is focused on appointment generation rather than full-cycle closing.
Over time, there may be a route into a fuller sales role if you prove you can consistently generate high-quality opportunities.
Who you will be targeting
You will mainly be prospecting into B2B companies with 100+ employees.
The people you will usually be trying to engage include:
- sales directors
- marketing directors
- commercial directors
- founders
- managing directors
- heads of growth
- heads of business development
You will be speaking to people who care about pipeline, meetings, outbound performance, lead generation, new business and commercial growth.
This is why the role requires someone who can hold a proper business conversation, not just read a script.
What you will be doing
You will be expected to:
- make high-quality outbound cold calls every day
- speak with senior B2B decision-makers
- use a permission-based, consultative cold calling style
- open conversations around outbound sales, appointment setting and pipeline generation
- qualify prospects properly before booking them in
- book qualified meetings directly into the founder’s diary
- follow up prospects by phone, email and LinkedIn where needed
- keep accurate notes and manage pipeline activity properly
- work closely with the founder on messaging, targeting and call quality
What success looks like
The key measure of success is simple: qualified meetings booked.
A strong performer in this role should be capable of booking 2+ qualified meetings per day once fully up to speed.
Quality matters as much as volume. We do not want low-quality diary fills, weak “interest” calls or people booked in who do not understand why they are speaking with us.
A good meeting will usually involve:
- a B2B company with 100+ staff
- a relevant senior decision-maker
- a genuine need around pipeline, outbound sales, appointment setting, lead generation or new business growth
- clear notes on what was discussed
- the prospect understanding what Parallel Partnerships does
- a realistic reason for the founder to speak with them
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone who has done proper outbound B2B cold calling before.
You may be a good fit if you have experience in:
- B2B appointment setting
- lead generation services
- outsourced sales
- sales development / SDR / BDR roles
- agency new business
- SaaS sales development
- marketing agency or growth agency outbound
- recruitment business development into senior decision-makers
- consulting, training or professional services sales
The most relevant backgrounds will be people who have sold services, meetings, demos, audits, consultations or discovery calls into senior B2B decision-makers.
Less relevant backgrounds
This role is probably less suited to people whose experience is mainly in:
- energy sales
- telecoms sales
- insurance add-ons
- merchant services
- utilities
- field sales to small local businesses
- pure product sales
- low-value transactional sales
That does not mean those backgrounds can never work, but this role is specifically focused on selling a B2B service to senior sales and marketing decision-makers.
What we are looking for
The right person will be able to show:
- strong B2B cold calling experience
- confidence speaking with senior decision-makers
- experience calling into companies with 100+ staff
- the ability to speak with sales, marketing or commercial leaders
- a proper permission-based approach to cold calling
- the ability to ask good questions and qualify properly
- experience booking meetings, demos, consultations or sales appointments
- resilience, consistency and strong daily activity
- commercial awareness and good phone manner
- the ability to work without needing constant hand-holding
- a track record of generating opportunities from cold outbound
This role is probably not right if
- you mainly have inbound sales experience
- you are used to warm leads only
- you dislike cold calling
- you need a fully scripted environment
- you are more of an account manager than a new business prospector
- you are looking for a pure closing role from day one
- you have mainly sold transactional products rather than B2B services
- you are not comfortable speaking with directors and senior decision-makers
Pay and commission
Basic salary will depend on experience.
We expect the right person to sit around £28,000 - £40,000 basic, with uncapped % commission on deals_ - OTE 75k+ year 1_
There is strong earning potential for someone who can consistently create quality new business opportunities.
