Job Introduction

Cawingredients supply high volume soft drinks principally to the UK market. We operate from a state of the art production and warehousing facility based on one site in North Yorkshire.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Goods In Manager. Recruiting the right people is an integral part of our growth plans. If you want to be part of a highly focussed environment, where attention to detail, excellent skills and diligence is required this could be the role for you.

As Goods-In Manager, you are responsible for all inbound material and equipment streams. Your team performs a vital and time‑critical function for the business; receipting, handling, picking and delivering the right materials in the right place at the right time for production.

Reporting directly to the Senior Inventory & Internal Supply Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership and motivation of the Goods-In, Yard and Equipment (Pallet) teams and their associated functions. You will develop and manage your leadership team to deliver industry‑leading levels of performance, accuracy, quality and safety.

The role is also accountable for ensuring optimal stock levels across all inbound materials through a close and collaborative working relationship with Procurement; balancing service to Production with working capital efficiency through proactive monitoring, insight and management.

Engaging and effective cross-functional relationships across the business is of the highest importance within this role.

Key Accountabilities

Lead the Goods In, Yard and Returnable Equipment (Pallet) teams
Manage, motivate and be accountable for team performance and standards
Manage colleagues’ system usage to drive exceptional performance and accuracy in relation to stock movement from the point of receipt, correct placement in storage locations through to consumption.
Record, manage and drive KPIs within your areas of responsibility to deliver exceptional colleague performance and accuracy
Take full operational ownership of inbound stock accuracy, integrity and control across all materials and equipment, by working closely with Stock Control team, to deliver industry-leading levels of accuracy.
Actively review and challenge procurement plans and delivery schedules, working closely with Procurement, Planning and Finance
Drive continuous improvement in linefeed, stock accuracy, stock control processes and system integrity
Ensure strong alignment between Goods In, Stock Control Procurement, Planning and Finance
Manage delivery scheduling, allowing adequate time to tip, check and put away
Manage the transfer, call‑off and control of componentry in third‑party storage locations
Manage your departmental holiday and absence cover in line with Company HR policies, and in consultation with other Departmental Managers, to always ensure appropriate labour resource
Manage day‑to‑day HR requirements for the leadership team (e.g. completion of return-to-work interviews, overtime approvals, investigations, grievance and disciplinary) as required
Manage the accurate recording and reporting of stock movements and adjustments as required by Finance
Manage Year End Audits for Goods In, from a componentry and equipment perspective
Be responsible for the end‑to‑end management and submission of all Year End reports for Finance / external audit purposes
Act as a Key User / Super User in current and future system upgrades or implementations if required

Ideally candidates will have:

Minimum 3 years’ warehouse leadership experience in FMCG
Demonstrated ability to improve performance and control
Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
Experience managing inventory and stock accuracy
Excellent understanding of warehouse health & safety
IOSH Managing Safely certification (mandatory)
Excellent understanding of reach truck, counterbalance and pallet truck operation
Strong systems capability (SAP, WMS, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
Confident communicator across all levels
