Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to specified recipes and standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff with daily operations, including ingredient organisation and portioning
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and prepared foods to prevent contamination
Help with serving meals to customers or guests as required
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with setup and breakdown

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in meal preparation, food presentation, and serving is advantageous
