Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, managing stock, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a fast-paced environment, supporting shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.

Duties

Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers
Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders
Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
Stocking shelves systematically to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Ensuring the workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards

Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is desirable
Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, and stock control will be beneficial
Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse machinery can be an asset
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently is required
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate inventory records
