An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Joiner to work in our Customer Care department at Jelson Ltd. Family-run for 130 years, we strive in delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Job Summary:

To deliver high-quality remedial joinery works within occupied customer homes and completed developments. The role exists to ensure customer reported defects are resolved efficiently, professionally, and to the highest standard, creating positive customer experiences and protecting the company's reputation for quality homes and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves, staircases, kitchen units, flooring, ironmongery, plinths and fillets, and fitted joinery are adjusted, repaired, or replaced to an excellent finish to meet customer expectations and company quality standards.

· Contribute to the successful resolution of customer defects by supporting colleagues with associated finishing works, including decorating, mastic application, and tiling where required.

· Identify root causes of defects and implement durable solutions that prevent recurring issues.

· Consistently achieve right-first-time repairs, reducing the need for repeat visits and additional remedial work.

· Maintain exceptional attention to detail, ensuring completed works blend seamlessly with existing finishes.

· Complete allocated jobs within agreed timescales while maintaining quality and customer service standards.

· Prioritise workloads effectively to maximise productivity and responsiveness to customer needs.

· Ensure customers' homes, belongings, and finishes are protected throughout all works.

· Leave every property clean, tidy, safe, and ready for immediate customer use following completion of repairs.

· Create positive customer experiences by ensuring homeowners feel informed, respected, and valued throughout every interaction.

· Build customer confidence in the company by resolving reported defects professionally and with minimal disruption.

· Manage customer expectations professionally and honestly, ensuring clear understanding of timescales and next steps.

· Accurately record completed works, materials used, photographs, customer feedback, and any follow-up actions using company systems and mobile devices.

· Provide timely updates to Customer Care management regarding progress, risks, and emerging issues.

· Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials in a professional and serviceable condition.

· Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role, skills, and level of competence as reasonably requested.

· Demonstrate a clear understanding of Health & Safety requirements including emergency procedures and hazard reporting

· Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.

· Ensure full compliance with GDPR and company data protection policies when handling customer personal information (if applicable)

Relevant Qualifications or Experience Required:

· Proven experience as a Joiner/Carpenter, ideally within residential construction or housebuilding (minimum 3 years)

· Strong knowledge of finishing joinery and remedial repair techniques.

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

· Full UK Driving Licence.

· Experience working within a Customer Care or Aftercare environment.

· Experience working within occupied homes.

· NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent qualification.

· Experience using mobile job management systems and digital reporting tools.

Pay: £16.41 per hour
