Pay: £12.71-£16.00 per hour

Job Description:

About the Role - Hours 08:00-20:00/20:00-08:00 Saturday and Sunday

Flexible for days and Nights

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

We are looking for dedicated, resilient and compassionate Support Workers to join a specialist team supporting a young adult with complex needs in a supported living environment.

This is a highly rewarding but intensive role, requiring staff who are confident working within Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks, and who can provide consistent, person-centred care.

The individual you will support has:

Autism, ADHD and Moderate Intellectual Disability
Bipolar affective disorder
Communication needs (non-verbal, uses visual tools and Makaton)
Behaviours that may challenge, often linked to communication and sensory needs

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, person-centred care in line with care plans and risk assessments
Support communication using visual aids, Makaton and assistive technology
Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies to reduce distress and promote engagement
Support with personal care, daily routines, and structured activities
Safely support community access (4:1 staffing model)
Monitor and record behaviours, mood, and health needs accurately
Administer medication in line with MAR charts and policy
Maintain a safe environment, following all risk management plans (including fire, medication, and safeguarding)

What We’re Looking For

Experience in learning disabilities, autism, or complex care
Understanding of PBS or behaviour support approaches
Ability to remain calm under pressure and work as part of a team
Strong communication and documentation skills
Physically able to support an active individual (walking, community access)
Commitment to dignity, safeguarding, and least restrictive practice

Essential:

Right to work in the UK
Willingness to complete training and competency assessments

Desirable:

PBS training
Experience with non-verbal communication methods
Experience working in high staffing ratio packages
