Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to clients in their own homes. We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you are seeking some part time weekend work. This role is ideal for individuals with a genuine desire to support vulnerable adults and older people, ensuring they maintain independence and dignity. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised care, including assistance with daily activities, medication management, and emotional support. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidates. The role involves working flexible hours to meet the needs of clients and requires a caring attitude and strong organisational skills.

Duties

Providing personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Assisting with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Administering medication following prescribed instructions
Supporting clients with daily activities such as shopping, housekeeping, and laundry
Managing behaviour and implementing care plans for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Offering companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assisting with specialised care needs such as hospice or palliative care
Driving clients to appointments or social activities in a safe manner
Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided and reporting any concerns to supervisors

Requirements

Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or hospice care is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided
Knowledge of patient care techniques including dementia, Alzheimer's, and behaviour management strategies
Relevant skills such as first aid certification, medication administration, and caregiving experience are desirable
Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility needs
Valid driving licence for transportation duties is advantageous
Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience
Ability to work independently whilst following care plans diligently
Flexibility to work various shifts according to client requirements
