Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and light food items. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop barista skills within a dynamic environment, ensuring customers enjoy a welcoming experience. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about coffee, food safety, and creating a positive atmosphere for patrons.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling light snacks or pastries as required.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of drink and food handling.
Operate coffee machines, blenders, and other equipment efficiently and safely.
Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately, answering questions about menu items, and engaging with customers in a friendly manner.
Manage cash register operations, including processing payments accurately using cash or card systems.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and fully stocked throughout shifts.
Assist with opening or closing duties as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Barista is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
Basic food preparation skills are beneficial for handling light snacks or ingredients.
Good basic maths skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
