Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and a memorable experience. This role involves managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and providing excellent guest services in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential. The position offers an opportunity to develop your customer service expertise within a vibrant team.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating arrangements efficiently
Handle reservations and waitlist management using the booking system
Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions about the offerings
Maintain a clean and organised reception area to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff to coordinate guest needs
Manage guest queries politely via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
Assist with guest departures by thanking them for their visit and ensuring satisfaction
Support the team during busy periods by assisting with basic service tasks as needed

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on courteous interaction
Knowledge of guest services standards within hotels or restaurants is desirable
Excellent phone etiquette and organisational abilities
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
A friendly demeanour with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required
