Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their culinary and hospitality skills within a dynamic setting. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The role is ideal for those passionate about hospitality and eager to gain valuable industry experience.

Duties

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Supporting the kitchen team with organisational duties such as restocking supplies and maintaining storage areas
Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces and floors to promote a safe working environment
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Helping with general cleaning duties around the kitchen and service areas to ensure a tidy workspace
Supporting serving staff during busy periods when required

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
