Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cafe Cook to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and customer service, with the chance to develop their skills within a welcoming setting.

Duties

Prepare and cook a range of food items according to menu specifications and recipes
Ensure all meals are prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demands
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist with meal presentation and garnishing to ensure visual appeal
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues to management
Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including proper food handling and storage
Support serving staff during busy periods by assisting with meal delivery when required
Adhere to all hygiene standards, including regular cleaning of utensils, surfaces, and cooking equipment

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a café, restaurant, or similar environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques across various cuisines is desirable
Previous experience in a fast-paced setting demonstrating organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
Experience with serving food directly to customers is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the hospitality industry

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute their culinary talents in a friendly team environment. Applicants should possess strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a passion for delivering quality food experiences.
