About the Firm

A J Jones Solicitors is a specialist private law firm providing legal services in UK immigration law. The firm represents individuals, families, and businesses in navigating the UK immigration system, offering clear advice and effective legal solutions tailored to clients’ needs.

We are seeking two experienced and motivated Immigration Caseworkers to join our team.

Role Overview

The Immigration Caseworker will be responsible for assisting on a caseload of varied immigration matters and supporting solicitors in delivering high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities

Assist on and progress a caseload of UK immigration matters from instruction through to completion.
Draft legal representations, covering letters, and reviewing supporting documentation.
Conduct legal research relating to immigration legislation, policy changes, and case law.
Liaise with clients, the Home Office, barristers, and other relevant parties.
Maintain accurate case files and records in accordance with firm procedures.
Assist solicitors with appeals, administrative reviews, judicial reviews and complex immigration matters where required.
Take instructions from clients where necessary.
Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and confidentiality obligations.
File management and administration.
Meet performance targets
Keep up to date with law and practice.
Attend internal training and external training as and when required.
Participate in team meetings.

Requirements

Law degree at 2:2 or higher (essential)
Level 2 IAAS Accreditation (preferred)
Previous experience working in UK immigration law of at least 2 years full-time or equivalent (essential)
Strong knowledge of immigration law, policies and procedure.
Ability to work closely with vulnerable clients and with colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
High attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
