About Police Now

We are working towards a day when every community, whatever the socio-economic background of its residents, can thrive without being fearful of crime. We are looking for talented, committed and mission-aligned individuals who will drive us towards achieving our ambitions.

Police Now recruits and trains graduates and career changers with leadership potential to become inspirational police officers and outstanding crime fighters on our National Graduate Programme. Graduates can pursue a variety of specialisms working in Neighbourhood Policing, as a Detective or within Counter Terrorism or Economic Crime units.

Police Now aims to create systemic change. We need highly capable impactful staff to support the recruitment and development of our officers and to cultivate strong relationships with partner forces and the wider sector.

The purpose of your role

As a Content Officer, you'll work as part of the Brand, Marketing and Communications team to develop compelling content that brings our mission to life.

Your work will have a direct impact on transforming the future of policing and our communities by creating engaging content that attracts, inspires and supports exceptional and diverse graduates throughout their journey into our National Graduate Programme.

You will own Police Now's channels, create content that drives engagement and applications, and support candidate communications across the recruitment lifecycle, from attraction through to onboarding.

The role requires creativity, strong storytelling skills and a proactive mindset. You'll identify opportunities to engage different audiences, create content that resonates with prospective candidates, alumni, partners and wider stakeholders, and use data and insights to continually improve the candidate experience and content performance.

Key responsibilities

Create engaging written and visual content for Police Now’s marketing and brand channels, including social media, website, email, video and campaign assets.
Develop content plans and calendars aligned to recruitment, marketing and brand objectives.
Capture and tell compelling stories from participants, alumni, police officers, partners and staff that showcase Police Now's mission and impact.
Produce and edit copy for a range of audiences and channels, ensuring consistency of tone, style and brand messaging.
Lead or support with content production projects including photography, videography, case studies and stakeholder interviews.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify content opportunities that support recruitment and organisation priorities.
Manage content updates across digital platforms including the website, Zoho (CRM) and social media channels , developing and publishing engaging content that supports organisational objectives.
Monitor content and digital trends, identify opportunities to improve performance and innovate.
Track and report on content performance metrics, including engagement, reach, traffic, and conversions.
Support wider marketing and communications initiatives across the organisation.

Key Requirements:

Experience creating content for digital marketing, communications, employer brand or recruitment campaigns.
Excellent copywriting, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and channels.
Experience producing content for social media, websites, email marketing and other digital platforms.
Strong understanding of content marketing and audience engagement principles.
Experience using content creation tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro or equivalent).
Familiarity with content management systems and analytics tools.
Experience managing content calendars and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
Confidence engaging with stakeholders and conducting interviews to develop authentic stories and case studies.
An interest in social impact, policing, public service or purpose-driven organisations.
Understanding of diversity and inclusion, and the ability to ensure content is representative, inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.
Willingness to travel occasionally to capture content at events..

Competitive salary of £37,000 - £44,500 per annum, pro rata (dependent on experience and inclusive of London weighting).
