We are seeking a professional, personable, and highly organised Driver / Guide to join our growing team.
Role Overview
The Driver / Guide will be responsible for safely transporting guests while delivering engaging, informative, and memorable tours. The ideal candidate will combine excellent driving skills with outstanding customer service and a passion for British history, culture, and hospitality.
This role requires flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to create exceptional guest experiences for high-net-worth individuals, families, corporate clients, and international visitors.
Key ResponsibilitiesDriving Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all road traffic regulations.
- Maintain a clean, presentable, and well-stocked vehicle at all times.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance requirements.
- Plan efficient routes while adapting to traffic and operational changes.
- Assist guests with luggage and mobility requirements where appropriate.
Guiding Duties
- Deliver engaging commentary throughout tours and transfers.
- Provide historical, cultural, and local insights tailored to guest interests.
- Lead private tours across London and surrounding destinations.
- Manage tour timings while ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable guest experience.
- Answer guest questions confidently and accurately.
- Recommend restaurants, attractions, shopping, and local experiences.
Customer Service
- Provide a five-star level of service from first greeting to final farewell.
- Build rapport with guests from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues professionally.
- Represent Tailored Tours in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and conduct.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete tour reports and operational paperwork as required.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding schedules and guest requirements.
- Assist with itinerary adjustments when necessary.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities for enhanced guest experiences.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service experience.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Good geographical knowledge of London and the South East.
- Ability to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and public holidays when required.
- Comfortable using navigation systems, smartphones, and operational apps.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Blue Badge Tourist Guide qualification (or working towards).
- Previous experience as a tour guide, chauffeur, hospitality professional, or driver-guide.
- Knowledge of British history, royal history, culture, architecture, and major attractions.
- Additional language skills.
- First Aid qualification.
- PCV, PSV, or chauffeur driving experience.
