Full job description

Border Chainsaw & Lawnmower Services is looking for an approachable, organised and motivated Sales & Administration Assistant to join our busy team.

The role is in our busy Forest & Garden Machinery Sales and Servicing Shop based in Earlston. You will be the first point of contact for customers providing excellent service while supporting the day-to-day administration of the business in sales and purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting customers in store with sales and parts enquiries.
Processing sales and customer orders.
Ordering in new stock if required.
Answering telephone calls and responding to emails professionally.
Booking machinery in for servicing and repair.
Preparing invoices and contacting customers.
General office administration, invoicing workshop work cards, booking in stock, processing basic invoices, and supporting the shop manager where required.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise workloads.
Has good computer skills and is confident using Microsoft Office and willing to learn internal Sales systems.
Can work independently when required and use their own initiative.
Previous retail, sales or administration experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
An interest in garden machinery or forestry equipment would be an advantage but is not essential.
