Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about catering, cooking, and food safety to develop their skills within a dynamic setting.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the catering team during events and daily service periods
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Help with food storage, organisation, and inventory management
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Serve food to customers or staff as required, ensuring a courteous and professional manner
Support the wider kitchen team with general duties to facilitate efficient operations

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and basic cooking techniques
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to gain practical culinary experience while contributing positively to our team. We welcome applicants who are enthusiastic about food service and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen.

Pay: £12.60-£13.00 per hour
