St Peter’s Nursing Home in Maldon, Essex, is seeking Healthcare Assistants to provide outstanding, one-to-one care for our residents living with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s, and physical disabilities.

About St Peter’s Nursing Home: Located on the historic St Peter’s Hospital grounds in the charming town of Maldon, our newly refurbished, 16-bedroom care home (with the capacity for 24 residents) offers a tranquil, welcoming environment. We recently introduced a beautiful sensory garden, providing a peaceful space for residents and their families to enjoy.

Position: BANK Healthcare Assistant
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Job Type: Zero-hours contract
Location: Maldon, Essex

Your Key Responsibilities:

Personal care — assisting residents with dignity and respect.
Observation notes — documenting every 15 minutes for 1:1 care residents.
Infection prevention — promoting cleanliness and safety.
Companionship — engage positively with residents to encourage mental stimulation.
Create a calm, friendly environment — promote emotional well-being.
Report to senior staff and nurses — ensure all care needs are communicated.
Ensure safety — safeguard both residents and fellow staff.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Level 3 training available!).
Experience with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Mental Health, Physical Disabilities, or End of Life Care is a bonus.
Strong attention to detail — essential for high-responsibility tasks.
Compassionate and patient personality — able to handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
Resilient, intuitive, and adaptable — capable of thinking on your feet.

Day Shifts:
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Night Shift:
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Scheduling Options:

Monday through Sunday
Weekend availability:
Every other weekend
Weekends only
