About Us

Jimmy's Killer Prawns Manchester is one of the UK's leading seafood restaurants, renowned for premium seafood, grilled dishes and exceptional hospitality. We are committed to delivering outstanding food, consistent quality and an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

We are looking for a talented, driven and experienced Sous Chef to join our leadership team and support the continued success of our kitchen.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, helping to lead the team and maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and operational standards. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth service, developing junior chefs and upholding the high standards that Jimmy's Killer Prawns is known for.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leads by example and is looking to progress their culinary career.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence.
Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to brand specifications.
Supervise, motivate and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, cleanliness and organisation.
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety procedures.
Assist with stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory management.
Help control food costs, minimise waste and maintain agreed GP targets.
Ensure efficient service during busy periods while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
Work collaboratively with the management team to continually improve kitchen performance.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step into a leadership role.
Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and passion for quality food.
Sound knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
