Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly by handling cleaning duties, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the overall hospitality experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the hospitality and culinary sectors.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
Supporting the organisation and cleanliness of kitchen work areas and storage spaces
Ensuring all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored correctly after use
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
Supporting the team during busy service periods by providing general assistance as needed
Maintaining a professional attitude whilst adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

Skills

Experience or interest in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable
Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
