Overview

Join our vibrant culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant/Chef, where your passion for food and dedication to excellence will shine! In this dynamic role, you will be an essential part of creating delicious meals, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Whether you're preparing ingredients, baking wonderful scones or sponges, or assisting with meal presentation, your energy and culinary skills will help bring our kitchen to life. This is weekend-only position, so availability for both Saturday and Sunday daytime please.

Duties

Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and organizing supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Cook various dishes following established recipes and standards to deliver high-quality meals consistently
Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and presentation to enhance visual appeal and customer satisfaction
Maintain food safety standards by adhering to hygiene protocols, proper storage practices, and cleanliness routines
Help with dishwashing, utensil cleaning, and kitchen sanitation to uphold a safe and tidy workspace
Serve food efficiently during service hours, ensuring timely delivery and proper portioning
Collaborate with team members to manage inventory levels and restock supplies as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for cooking is essential
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills
Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving others
Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior kitchen staff
Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays cover as needed.
This is weekend-only position, so availability for both Saturday and Sunday daytime.
