Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts, with a proven track record in supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The Head Chef will be responsible for creating innovative menus, managing daily kitchen activities, and fostering a positive team environment.

Duties

Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
Develop and plan diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Manage food production processes to optimise efficiency while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor staff to enhance skills, teamwork, and professional development
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Implement new recipes and culinary techniques to keep offerings innovative and appealing
Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and high performance

Experience

Proven experience in a senior culinary role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Supervising experience with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage operational challenges
Experience in restaurant management or hospitality industry preferred
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous

Pay: £38,000.00-£44,000.00 per year
