Full job description

We are seeking a claims assistant to support our Personal Injury team. The role involves providing day-to-day administrative and client support to fee earners, assisting with case management tasks, and acting as a first point of contact for clients and third parties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and organisational skills who is interested in working within a busy legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls from clients, insurers, other solicitors and prospective new clients
Taking initial details from new clients and recording accurate information for potential new claims
Inputting and maintaining case information on the firm’s case management system
Assisting fee earners with general case handling administration
Chasing medical providers for medical records and reports
Liaising with insurers and other third parties to obtain updates on claims
Providing regular updates to clients regarding the progress of their claims
Preparing and sending correspondence as directed by fee earners
Managing incoming and outgoing post, including scanning and allocating documents to files
Ensuring files and electronic records are kept organised and up to date
Providing general administrative support to the Personal Injury team as required

Skills and Experience

Excellent communication and telephone manner
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Good attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Confident using computers and case management systems
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Previous experience within a legal environment or personal injury claims is advantageous but not essential, as training may be provided for the right candidate.
