Job description

This is a butchery role working alongside probably one of the best head butchers in the country. This position may also suit a chef, with a basic knowledge of butchery who wishes to develop their skills.

As Butcher you will be supporting the butchery department of this fantastic Foodhall & Kitchen. You will be selling the finest West Country grass fed naturally reared meat, showcased through outstanding displays, utilising the butchery counter, prep area, hanging and ageing cabinets.

Having the knowledge to inform and wow customers with personality, expertise and some cooking know how will be critical to your success.

You will be responsible for supporting your department’s sales opportunities to exceed targets, through great customer service and personality you will help customers to know more about the meat that they buy, how to cook it and give them confidence to try some new products.

By being outgoing and confident speaking to groups, your participation in demonstration days and food events will be invaluable.

Keeping alive the tradition of butchery, you will participate in the training and development provided within the butchery, whilst achieving the highest standards of food safety (HACCP) will be a pre-requisite of the role.

You will have a passion for great seasonal local food, preparing and supplying meat for the purpose built open kitchen with 150 covers, including a gas and woodfired Pizza Theatre.
