Full job description

Summary
We specialise in care for elderly people often living with physical and/or mental conditions/disabilities, including severe Dementia who have high needs and require assistance with all aspects of their physical and mental well-being.

If yes to the above, we have a fantastic opportunity at Longview Care Home for you.

We are looking for an Activities Co-ordinator, 12 hours per week over 3 days. Must be able to commit to working every other Saturday. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing engaging, person-centred and meaningful activities for residents.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Developing and implementing a diverse range of welcoming and inclusive activities which cater to the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of residents
Organise events and in-house activities that promote stimulation
Collaborate with care staff, Seniors and management to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of the residents
Maintain accurate records of activity participation
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities to continuously improve the offer.

What the ideal candidate will bring to the role:

Previous experience of working in a care or nursing setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all residents (some of whom will be non-verbal and / or non-ambulant and may have challenging behaviours), families and staff
Creativity with the ability to organise and deliver engaging activities for all vulnerable residents
Excellent planning ability to keep a well-managed diary of multiple activities going, at all times with the requisite risk assessments, and other associated documentation, in place
Flexibility to deliver activities out-of-hours, as and when required.
