About the role and team

In this role, you will work within the Housing Solutions Team, helping to assess the eligibility of households for social housing in accordance with the Council's Housing Allocations Scheme. You will play an important role in ensuring applications are processed accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service to residents seeking housing assistance.

You will deal with housing register enquiries in person, by telephone, email and letter, providing advice and information to applicants and partner agencies. This is a predominantly administrative role and requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply policies and procedures fairly and consistently to individual circumstances.

What we are looking for from you

Previous experience of working in housing would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Experience of working with the public and providing customer-focused services.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidance consistently.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also managing your own workload with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to work confidently and sensitively with people who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.
Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
