Sector: Rail / Civil Engineering & Structures

Location: North Wales Coast

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent to join our expanding team in the North Wales region, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects. With major CP7 works underway and new schemes mobilising across the North Wales Coast, this is a fantastic time to join a growing and ambitious business.

Business Unit

Our Wales & Western business unit is a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment delivering multi-disciplinary civil engineering works across:

Rail civils infrastructure - bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels, footbridges
Transport for Wales capital and enhancement programmes
Network Rail infrastructure works aligned to Control Period 7 (CP7)
Environment Agency works
Local Authority civil engineering schemes
A broad range of regional public and private-sector clients

Current and upcoming works in North Wales include mobilisation of two major footbridge widening schemes. These schemes support active travel improvements, accessibility upgrades, and DDA-compliant infrastructure enhancements delivered on behalf of Network Rail and Transport for Wales.

Across the region, we are also delivering CP7 infrastructure enhancements, structural refurbishments, bridge replacements, platform upgrades (including Access for All), and a range of minor works and framework packages.

The Role

Reporting to a Project Manager, the Site Agent will be responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, and safe delivery of multiple rail and civil engineering projects along the North Wales Coast.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all works comply with:
- Relevant legislation
- Contract Terms and Conditions
- Contract Health & Safety Plan
- Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets
- Quality and Environmental Plans
Deliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget
Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial staff to manage project costs and performance
Monitor progress and take corrective action to maintain delivery objectives
Identify, agree, and manage changes to the contract
Produce formal progress and performance reports for the Contracts Manager
Support possession-based working (weekends and nights) where required, in line with North Wales project demands such as the Sandy Lane and Pen Uchaf footbridge schemes.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have proven experience as a Site Agent, or be a strong Sub Agent ready to step up within a rail-focused civil engineering environment.

Essential:

Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
PTS / SMSTS
Previous experience delivering rail-based civils projects (bridges, structures, stations, embankments, etc.)
Strong understanding of rail standards, SHEQ, and possession-based work
Full UK driving licence
