Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking and presentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The Prep Chef will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, contributing to the smooth operation of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as per recipe specifications
Assist in the assembly of dishes, ensuring timely and accurate meal preparation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep station in accordance with food safety standards
Support the kitchen team during busy periods, including basic cooking tasks when required
Restock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently, including proper food handling procedures
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to minimise waste
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment is required
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary processes
Previous experience in a kitchen setting, including serving or restaurant experience, is advantageous
Ability to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills
Enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills and techniques
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary

We have recently expanded the business and need an experienced chef to aid our current prep chef in all his duties.
