Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Applicants MUST be able to evenings and weekend shifts on a rota basis

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment.
Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure the kitchen remains tidy throughout shifts.
Help with serving food and beverages when required, ensuring prompt and courteous service to guests.
Maintain health and safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Assist in setting up dining areas for service and clearing after service completion.

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards is beneficial.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business.
A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential qualities for success in this role. This position offers an excellent platform for those looking to gain practical experience within the culinary industry while contributing to a welcoming guest environment.

Pay: £8.00-£13.00 per hour
