Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you'll be the backbone of our food service operation, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety in the kitchen environment. Your proactive approach will support chefs and kitchen staff by maintaining a hygienic workspace, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting while contributing to exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently and thoroughly.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, sanitized, and properly stored after use.
Support the storage of ingredients and supplies in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy workspace.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
Support the culinary team during busy service times by providing timely assistance as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key!
Basic understanding of food preparation, cleaning procedures, and kitchen safety protocols.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency.
Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail-oriented work ethic.
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
A positive attitude and willingness to support others in a fast-paced setting.
Prior experience in serving or hospitality roles is a plus but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
