Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative/Traffic Marshall for a new project in Newcastle NE1

START DATE: 8th JUNE 2026

MUST HAVE CSCS/TRAFFIC MARSHALL CERT-CARD

This role is vital for maintaining site safety, directing traffic, and supporting daily operations. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring smooth site access and adherence to health and safety regulations. Prior experience in construction environments and good communication skills are highly desirable.

Duties

Directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic on-site to ensure safety and efficiency
Assisting with the safe movement of construction vehicles, lorries, and plant machinery
Monitoring site access points, checking identification, and maintaining visitor logs
Ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols at all times
General Operative duties, lifting, carrying, cleaning.
Supporting general site operations as required, including assisting with deliveries and organising materials
Communicating effectively with team members, drivers, and visitors to coordinate activities
Maintaining a clean and organised traffic control area

Skills

Experience or knowledge of construction sites is advantageous
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to clearly give directions and liaise with diverse teams and visitors
Valid driving licence is essential for operating site vehicles or escorting lorries within the site
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly to changing circumstances
Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and assist with manual tasks as needed

This role is integral to the safe operation of our construction site, requiring a responsible individual committed to maintaining high standards of safety and organisation.

Pay: £12.71-£17.00 per hour
