Full job description

We're looking for a motivated and social bartender to join our little pub. The pub is family owned and is very much a social hub in Heaton. It's a small pub with a lots of people in and out so cleanliness is our focus for 2026! We also have the pleasure of having bar seating so some of our punters come for a chat which is an essential part of the job. We don't really do many cocktails, but we pour plenty of Guinness and change over a fair few kegs so it's important to learn these skills or have them already.

Duties

Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Ensure the pub is clean, organized, and stocked at all times
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system
Engage with customers, provide recommendations, and answer questions about the menu
Monitor customer behaviour and ensure responsible alcohol service
Collaborate with other staff members to provide excellent customer service

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
Knowledge of basic math skills for cash handling purposes
Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects. Applicants must be of legal drinking age in accordance with local regulations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.00-£13.00 per hour
