We are currently recruiting dedicated Care Assistants / Healthcare Assistants to support both children and adults with complex needs.

Available Role: Burton – Day / Bank Shift

Client: Adult female with Cerebral Palsy
Hours: Thursday and Friday - 9:30 - 16:00
Pay: £16.00 per hour

About The Role

About our client:

A fantastic opportunity is available to support a imaginative lady to live life to the fullest and enjoy fun packed days. We are seeking a highly creative person with excellent communication skills to support this lady who uses several non-verbal ways to express herself. She has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and is a wheelchair user, requiring support with personal care and all aspects of daily living.

A successful candidate will be highly motivated to support this lady with her creative interests such as music, drama, art and technology. With the opportunity to work alongside specialists to develop skills in hydrotherapy, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), postural care and assistive technology.

Essential criteria

Full UK driving licence and willing to drive an automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV)
At least 6 months of care experience in the UK

Experience working with individuals with complex needs

Strong verbal and written English skills
A compassionate, patient, and dependable approach
Ability to work both independently and within a team

Basic IT skills for completing documentation

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)Desirable criteria

Ability to play a musical instrument
Interest in arts and crafts
Previous experience using assistive technology

Key Responsibilities

Driving an automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle (full UK driving license is essential)
Encouraging independence and creative interests (music, drama, art, technology)
Using and supporting with communication aids and assistive technology
Emotional support and companionship
Supporting a wheelchair user (hoist-dependent)
Personal care and daily living support
Liaising with family members and professionals
Manual handling
Mobility and repositioning
Monitoring and reporting health changes

Key Responsibilities (All Roles)

Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in line with care plans
Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily activities
Promote independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
Maintain accurate care documentation
Build trusting relationships with clients and families
Follow all health & safety regulations and company policies
Participation in regular team meetings and client specific training
